PATONG BEACH DINING EXPERIENCE

Patong Beach is known for its “great eating”. Patong Beach restaurants offer just about every international cuisine. Whatever your taste buds desire Patong Beach has it: American, Belgian, Thai, Dutch, Swiss, Mexican, French, Italian, Austrian, German, English, Greek, Russian, Indian, and Seafood.

So why is Patong Beach so popular? Patong Beach is the center hub of all action in Phuket. Patong Beach dining has it all; coffee shops, pastry shops, hawker food stalls, beer gardens and bars. During the day there’s a real international atmosphere as you leisurely walk down beach road. Once the sun goes down, the action starts to heat up with the bars and nightclubs coming alive.

Patong Beach is known for its quality 5 Star, high-end restaurants, our family has dined at several of them and yes….they are all outstanding. Some of the better known restaurants did not make a big impression on us as we soon discovered. Nor did the more expensive ones beat out the not-quite-wallet-breaking ones.

We’re not gourmet dining experts, just your average customer telling it like it is. In order of our favorites, here they are....

Patong Seafood Restaurant ($$)

Patong Seafood Restaurant is one of the oldest restaurants in Patong and it sure lives up to its name.

They serve a large selection of fresh local seafood right from the sea. You will actually see the live lobster and crabs and choose them to have it cooked to your liking.

Baan Rim Pa ($$$$)

Wow! What a gorgeous view this restaurant has! If you want the view of the bay this is the place to go.

We believe the food is among the best in Phuket. The menus are well thought out, which makes ordering very simple for those unfamiliar with Thai food.

La Gritta ($$$$)

This has to be one of the romantic restaurants in Phuket! Our family considers Amari Coral Beach Resort to be one of the best ”Honeymoon” locations in Patong Beach.

La Boucherie ($$$)

La Boucherie restaurant one of the finest French restaurants in Patong Beach Phuket sits tucked away in the Royal Phawadee Village away from the normal hustle and bustle.

The steaks are among some of the best grilled in Phuket! Try the T-bone steak with pepper sauce. Get the side order of baked potato; you can't go wrong "One of the best I ever tasted".

Grillhutte ($$)

Excellence in German food! What else can I say! If you want to feel like you’re sitting back in a classic German pub with all the surroundings this is a great place to go.

It’s located in Soi Foodland where there are specialties from 6 different countries; talk about how easy it is to get swayed away once you arrive.

Sphinx ($$$)

Very unique concept this restaurant features, we decided we wanted a dinner and a Broadway show on the same night.

Dinner before or after the show? We took it after, but that’s your choice, when you arrive you really get a good feeling for the place and the food is some of the best in Phuket.

Savoey ($$$)

Ok this restaurant is located right on the main drag on Beach road and you can’t miss it, they have a great seafood display (similar to Patong seafood) and with the same touch. The restaurant is one of the originals in Patong and is well known to the Phuket traveler.

If you’re a seafood lover, this is another good place to experience, although at times the place can get pretty busy, the best time to go is early in the evening to avoid the normal hustle and bustle during the later hours.
