My Bang Tao Beach Phuket Swim Route

Bang Tao Beach Phuket is another beach I like to do distance swims, if you have never been to this beach you will be amazed at its natural tropical beauty, the beach stretches about 4 miles in length and it is just north of Surin Beach, the Laguna Phuket resort complex is located just around center beach, this mega resort has numerous hotels located within it, also a beautiful place.

Not far where I am standing here filming my swim entry point and just south around the point is the world famous Amanpuri resort, lots of Hollywood celebrity people stay at this resort, I believe the rooms start around $800 USD and go as far $7000.00 a night.

I like to do this swim on a relatively calm day, some days the surf can get a bit choppy and once you get past the surf zone the swells and currents can get a bit tricky, my advice, always do these swims in surface fins if you are going for any type of distance. I guess if you are a triathlete, who I am not, during my years in the SEAL Team we did our water operations with fins.

If you have never swam any distance one of the key points you want to do is find a landmark in the distance and try to stay in line with it, that way you will know if the current and swell action are taking you off course.

My beach exit point is just before the Dusit Laguna resort, from my southern entry point to the northern exit point is about an hour give or take.
